Happy Birthday to me!

Devan brought home my early gift on Friday night. This is Chudleigh. He's a yellow Labrador Retriever.

If you are familiar with Jacquie Lawson animated greeting cards, you would get the name reference. Her dog is named Chudleigh. Chudleigh is a town in Labrador (Canada). And an absolutely adorable name for an absolutely adorable pup, I think.

I am hoping to get into doing field trials with him in the future. That's something I've always been interested in. I love hunting dogs. I think the relationship between man/dog hunting together is fascinating.

Ares is extremely, extremely, extremely jealous, but adapting. He's getting used to the little pest, and his behavior has improved vastly since the pup has arrived. I think it has to do with him having been lonely. He always had people and dogs around, and when we moved out of Mom & Dad's house, he no longer had those companions, so he started acting out. Now he seems to be happier, even if he acts like this puppy is the worst thing that ever happened to him!
